Uses For glucarpidase

Glucarpidase injection is used to treat too much methotrexate concentration in the blood in patients with severe kidney disease.

Your doctor will check your progress closely while you are receiving glucarpidase. This will allow your doctor to see if the medicine is working properly and to decide if you should continue to receive it. Blood and urine tests may be needed to check for unwanted effects. Serious allergic reactions may occur during treatment with glucarpidase. Check with your doctor right away if you have a fever; chills; flushing of the face; headache; hives; itching; rash; tightness of the throat; tingling or numbness sensation; troubled breathing; rash; swelling of the face, tongue, and throat; or chest pain after you receive the medicine.
