What is the most important information I should know about Aleve-D Sinus & Cold (naproxen and pseudoephedrine)?
Do not use this medicine if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine, and others.
Naproxen can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
Naproxen may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using naproxen, especially in older adults.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Aleve-D Sinus & Cold (naproxen and pseudoephedrine)?
Naproxen can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even people without heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking this medicine.
Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
Naproxen may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using naproxen and pseudoephedrine, especially in older adults.
You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to naproxen or pseudoephedrine, or if you have ever had an asthma attack or severe allergic reaction after taking aspirin or an NSAID.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to use this medicine if you have other medical conditions, especially:

heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or if you smoke;

a history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot;

a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding;
-
asthma;
-
a thyroid disorder;
-
enlarged prostate, urination problems;

liver or kidney disease; or
-
fluid retention.
Taking naproxen during the last 3 months of pregnancy may harm the unborn baby. Do not use naproxen and pseudoephedrine without a doctor's advice if you are pregnant.
Naproxen can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while using this medicine.
Naproxen and pseudoephedrine is not approved for use by anyone younger than 12 years old.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Since cold medicine is used when needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are on a schedule, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Uses of Aleve-D Sinus & Cold

What do I need to tell my doctor BEFORE I take Aleve-D Sinus & Cold?
For all patients taking Aleve-D Sinus & Cold (naproxen and pseudoephedrine):
- If you have an allergy to pseudoephedrine, naproxen, or any other part of this medicine.
- If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
- If you have taken certain drugs used for low mood (depression) like isocarboxazid, phenelzine, or tranylcypromine or drugs used for Parkinson's disease like selegiline or rasagiline in the last 14 days. Taking Aleve-D Sinus & Cold within 14 days of those drugs can cause very bad high blood pressure.
- If you are taking any other NSAID.
- If you are pregnant or may be pregnant. Do not take this medicine if you are in the third trimester of pregnancy. You may also need to avoid Aleve-D Sinus & Cold at other times during pregnancy. Talk with your doctor to see when you need to avoid taking this medicine during pregnancy.
Children:
- If your child is younger than 12 years of age. Do not give Aleve-D Sinus & Cold to a child younger than 12 years of age.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all of your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) and health problems. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take Aleve-D Sinus & Cold with all of your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor.
If OVERDOSE is suspected
If you think there has been an overdose, call your poison control center or get medical care right away. Be ready to tell or show what was taken, how much, and when it happened.
