Temodar (Temozolomide Capsules)

• It is used to treat brain cancer.
• It may be given to you for other reasons. Talk with the doctor.

• Tell all of your health care providers that you take Temodar. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
• Have blood work checked as you have been told by the doctor. Talk with the doctor.
• Talk with your doctor before getting any vaccines. Use with this medicine may either raise the chance of an infection or make the vaccine not work as well.
• If you have upset stomach, throwing up, loose stools (diarrhea), or are not hungry, talk with your doctor. There may be ways to lower these side effects.
• You may have more of a chance of getting an infection. Wash hands often. Stay away from people with infections, colds, or flu. Some infections have been very bad and even deadly.
• You may bleed more easily. Be careful and avoid injury. Use a soft toothbrush and an electric razor.
• A very bad bone marrow problem and second cancer have happened with Temodar. Talk with the doctor.
• If you have had hepatitis B before or carry the virus, talk with your doctor. This medicine can cause the virus to become active again.
• If you are 70 years or older, use this medicine with care. You could have more side effects.
• If you are a man and have sex with a female who could get pregnant, protect her from pregnancy. Use birth control that you can trust.
• If you are a man with a sex partner who is pregnant or plans on getting pregnant at any time while you are being treated, talk with your doctor.
• This medicine may cause harm to the unborn baby if you take it while you are pregnant. If you are pregnant or you get pregnant while taking Temodar, call your doctor right away.
• Use birth control that you can trust to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine.
• Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.

If you think there has been an overdose, call your poison control center or get medical care right away. Be ready to tell or show what was taken, how much, and when it happened.

• If your symptoms or health problems do not get better or if they become worse, call your doctor.
• Do not share your drugs with others and do not take anyone else's drugs.
• Keep a list of all your drugs (prescription, natural products, vitamins, OTC) with you. Give this list to your doctor.
• Talk with the doctor before starting any new drug, including prescription or OTC, natural products, or vitamins.
• Some drugs may have another patient information leaflet. Check with your pharmacist. If you have any questions about Temodar, please talk with your doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or other health care provider.
• If you think there has been an overdose, call your poison control center or get medical care right away. Be ready to tell or show what was taken, how much, and when it happened.
