Rufinamide Oral Suspension

• It is used to treat seizures.

Use this medicine as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.

• Keep taking rufinamide oral suspension as you have been told by your doctor or other health care provider, even if you feel well.
• To gain the most benefit, do not miss doses.
• Take this medicine with food.
• Do not change the dose or stop rufinamide oral suspension. This could cause seizures. Talk with your doctor.
• Shake well before use.
• Follow how to use carefully.
• Only use the measuring device that comes with this liquid drug.

What do I do if I miss a dose?

• Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
• If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
• Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:

• Dizziness.
• Feeling sleepy.
• Feeling tired or weak.
• Headache.
• Upset stomach or throwing up.

• Talk with the doctor before starting any new drug, including prescription or OTC, natural products, or vitamins.
• This medicine comes with an extra patient fact sheet called a Medication Guide. Read it with care. Read it again each time this medicine is refilled. If you have any questions about rufinamide oral suspension, please talk with the doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider.
• If you think there has been an overdose, call your poison control center or get medical care right away. Be ready to tell or show what was taken, how much, and when it happened.

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:

• allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
• blood in the urine
• changes in vision
• feeling faint or lightheaded, falls
• fever
• irregular heart beat
• pain in the lower back or side
• pain when urinating
• suicidal thoughts or other mood changes
• unusual bleeding or bruising
• unusually weak or tired
• yellowing of the eyes, skin

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (Report these to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome.):

• decreased appetite
• drowsiness
• headache
• nausea, vomiting
