Uses of Kisqali 200 Dose

  • It is used to treat a type of breast cancer.

What are some things I need to know or do while I take Kisqali 200 Dose?

  • Tell all of your health care providers that you take Kisqali 200 Dose. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
  • An unsafe heartbeat that is not normal (long QT on ECG) has happened with this medicine. This may raise the chance of sudden death. Talk with the doctor.
  • You will need an ECG before starting Kisqali 200 Dose and during treatment. Talk with your doctor.
  • If you have upset stomach, throwing up, loose stools (diarrhea), or are not hungry, talk with your doctor. There may be ways to lower these side effects.
  • Have blood work checked as you have been told by the doctor. Talk with the doctor.
  • You may have more chance of getting an infection. Wash hands often. Stay away from people with infections, colds, or flu.
  • Avoid star fruit, pomegranate or pomegranate juice, and grapefruit or grapefruit juice while you take this medicine.
  • This medicine may affect how much of some other drugs are in your body. If you are taking other drugs, talk with your doctor. You may need to have your blood work checked more closely while taking Kisqali 200 Dose with your other drugs.
  • This medicine may affect being able to father a child. Talk with the doctor.
  • This medicine may cause harm to the unborn baby if you take it while you are pregnant.
  • If you are able to get pregnant, a pregnancy test will be done to show that you are NOT pregnant before starting this medicine. Talk with your doctor.
  • Use birth control that you can trust to prevent pregnancy while taking Kisqali 200 Dose (ribociclib) and for at least 3 weeks after your last dose.
  • If you get pregnant while taking this medicine or within 3 weeks after your last dose, call your doctor right away.

How is this medicine (Kisqali 200 Dose) best taken?

Use Kisqali 200 Dose as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.

  • Take with or without food.
  • Take in the morning.
  • Take this medicine at the same time of day.
  • Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
  • Do not take chipped or broken tablets.
  • Take as you have been told by your doctor.
  • Keep taking Kisqali 200 Dose as you have been told by your doctor or other health care provider, even if you feel well.
  • If you throw up after taking a dose, do not repeat the dose. Take your next dose at your normal time.

What do I do if I miss a dose?

  • Skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
  • Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

If OVERDOSE is suspected

If you think there has been an overdose, call your poison control center or get medical care right away. Be ready to tell or show what was taken, how much, and when it happened.

Usual Adult Dose for Breast Cancer

600 mg orally once a day for 21 consecutive days followed by 7 days off treatment for a complete cycle of 28 days.

Comments: Refer to the manufacturer product information for dosing and administration recommendations for the co-administered aromatase inhibitor (e.g., letrozole).

Use: In combination with an aromatase inhibitor as initial endocrine-based therapy for the treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

Other Comments

Administration Advice:
-Administer this drug with or without food, and at approximately the same time each day (preferably in the morning).
-Missed and vomited doses should not be replaced; dosing should be resumed with the next scheduled daily dose.

Storage Requirements:
-Store in the original package at 20 to 25 degrees Celsius (68 to 77 Fahrenheit).

General:
-In studies using patient-derived estrogen receptor positive breast cancer xenograft models, the combination of this drug with an antiestrogen (e.g., letrozole) resulted in increased tumor growth inhibition compared to each drug alone.
-There are no known cases of overdose with this drug; initiate general symptomatic and supportive measures in all cases of overdosage as necessary.

Monitoring:
-Cardiac: ECGs (before treatment initiation, at approximately Day 14 of the first cycle, at the beginning of the second cycle, and as clinically indicated; more frequent monitoring if QTcF prolongation occurs at any given time during treatment); serum electrolytes (before treatment initiation, at the beginning of the first 6 cycles, and as clinically indicated)
-Hematological: CBC (before treatment initiation, every 2 weeks for the first 2 cycles, at the beginning of each subsequent 4 cycles, and as clinically indicated)
-Hepatic: LFTs (before treatment initiation, every 2 weeks for the first 2 cycles, at the beginning of each subsequent 4 cycles, and as clinically indicated; more frequent monitoring if Grade 2 or greater abnormalities noted)

Patient Advice:
-Avoid pomegranates/pomegranate juice, grapefruit/grapefruit juice during treatment with this drug.
