Avoid taking other medicines within 2 hours before or after you take aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb certain medicines, especially antibiotics.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone and call your doctor at once if you have:

• bone pain, muscle weakness;

• confusion, changes in your mental state, seizure (convulsions); or

• pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath, rapid heart rate.

Less serious side effects are more likely, and you may have none at all.

Applies to aluminum hydroxide / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone: oral liquid, oral suspension, oral tablet chewable

>12 years: Al hydroxide/Mg hydroxide/simethicone 400 mg-400 mg-40 mg to 800 mg-800 mg-80 mg four times daily.

The maximum daily dose of Al hydroxide/Mg hydroxide/simethicone is 4800 mg-4800 mg-480 mg four times a day.

If kidney disease present, ask a doctor before use.

A dose of Al hydroxide/Mg hydroxide/simethicone 400 mg-400 mg-40 mg will neutralize 19.4 mEq of stomach acid.

Do not use maximum daily dose for more than 2 weeks.

Shake the suspension well before using.
