What do I need to tell my doctor BEFORE I take Rehydralyte?

  • If you have an allergy to Rehydralyte (electrolyte oral solution, freezer-pops, and jell cups) or any part of this medicine.
  • If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.

This medicine may interact with other drugs or health problems.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all of your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) and health problems. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take Rehydralyte with all of your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor.

How is this medicine (Rehydralyte) best taken?

Use this medicine as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.

Freeze pops:

  • Can be eaten without freezing. Tastes best when frozen.
  • Use clean scissors to cut off top of plastic sleeve.
  • Push up from bottom of sleeve.

Oral solution:

  • Do not add water or other liquid to water down.
  • Chill the solution to make it taste better.

Jell cups:

  • Do not add water or other liquid to water down.

What do I do if I miss a dose?

  • This medicine is used on an as needed basis. Do not use more often than told by the doctor.

What are some other side effects of Rehydralyte?

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:

How do I store and/or throw out Rehydralyte?

All products:

  • Store at room temperature.
  • Protect from heat.
  • Keep all drugs in a safe place. Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Check with your pharmacist about how to throw out unused drugs.

Freeze pops:

  • Throw away any unused portion.

Oral solution:

  • If single use product, throw away any unused part after first use.
  • Store opened bottle in refrigerator.
  • Do not keep and or use for longer than what is says on the product label.

Jell cups:

  • After opening, you may refrigerate for up to 3 days.
