Qnasl Overview

Qnasl is a prescription medication used to treat the nasal symptoms of year-round and seasonal allergies in patients 4 years of age and older. Qnasl is part of a class of medications called anti-inflammatory corticosteroids. These works by decreasing swelling and irritation in the nasal passages.

Qnasl is available as a nasal spray and is typically administered once daily.

Common side effects of Qnasl include headaches, nosebleeds, and nasal discomfort. 

 

Uses of Qnasl

Symptoms of year-round and seasonal nasal allergies may include:

  • Sneezing 
  • Runny nose
  • Stuffy nose
  • Itchy nose

Qnasl Interactions

No drug interactions have been studied by the manufacturer. However, you should inform your physician about all of the medications you take including all prescription and non-prescription medications, vitamins, supplements, and herbal products. Not all drug interactions are known or reported and new drug interactions are continually being discovered and reported.

Qnasl Food Interactions

Medications can interact with certain foods. In some cases, this may be harmful and your doctor may advise you to avoid certain foods. In the case of Qnasl, there are no specific foods that you must exclude from your diet when receiving this medication.

What should I avoid while using beclomethasone nasal?

Avoid getting this medication in your eyes. If this does happen, rinse with water and call your doctor.

Using steroid medicine can lower blood cells that help your body fight infections. Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Call your doctor for preventive treatment if you are exposed to chicken pox or measles. These conditions can be serious or even fatal in people who are using beclomethasone nasal.

Uses For QNASL

Beclomethasone nasal spray is used to treat an itchy or runny nose, sneezing, or other symptoms caused by perennial (year-round) or seasonal hay fever (allergic rhinitis). It is a steroid (cortisone-like medicine) that works by preventing the inflammation that occurs with allergic reactions.

This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

QNASL Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

  • dizziness
  • fast heartbeat
  • lightheadedness
  • rapid, shallow breathing
  • rash
  • unusual bleeding or bruising

  • Change in vision
  • eye pain
  • headache

  • tearing
  • unexplained nosebleeds

  • Bloody mucus
  • cough or hoarseness
  • difficulty with breathing
  • dizziness
  • hives or welts, itching
  • loss of taste and smell
  • sores inside the nose

What happens if I miss a dose?

Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
