Uses of Pfizerpen-G

  • It is used to treat bacterial infections.

What are some things I need to know or do while I take Pfizerpen-G?

  • Tell all of your health care providers that you take this medicine. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
  • Very bad and sometimes deadly allergic side effects have rarely happened. Talk with your doctor.
  • Have your blood work checked if you are on Pfizerpen-G for a long time. Talk with your doctor.
  • Do not use longer than you have been told. A second infection may happen.
  • When given in large doses, this medicine may cause very bad and even deadly electrolyte problems. Talk with the doctor.
  • If you have high blood sugar (diabetes), do not use Clinitest®. Use some other urine glucose testing like Clinistix® or Tes-Tape®.
  • This medicine may affect certain lab tests. Be sure your doctor and lab workers know you use Pfizerpen-G.
  • Use with care in newborns. Talk with the doctor.
  • Birth control pills and other hormone-based birth control may not work as well to prevent pregnancy. Use some other kind of birth control also like a condom when taking this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using Pfizerpen-G while you are pregnant.
  • Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.

What are some other side effects of Pfizerpen-G?

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:

  • Upset stomach or throwing up.
  • Mouth irritation or mouth sores.
  • Change in tongue color.
  • Irritation where the shot is given.
