Mylanta Tonight

Name: Mylanta Tonight

What Is Mylanta Tonight?

Calcium and magnesium are naturally occurring minerals that are necessary for many systems in the body. Calcium and magnesium are sometimes used as antacids to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach.

Simethicone allows gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines to come together more easily, which allows for easier passage of gas.

Calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone is a combination antacid, anti-gas medicine used to treat heartburn, indigestion, gas and bloating, or stomach discomfort caused by overeating.

Calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Follow all directions on your medicine label and package. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if it is safe for you to use this medicine if you have other medical conditions, especially:

  • kidney disease; or
  • a condition for which you need to limit your intake of magnesium.

It is not known whether calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone will harm an unborn baby. Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant.

It is not known whether calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 12 years old without a doctor's advice.

Mylanta Tonight Interactions

Avoid taking other medications at the same time you take an antacid. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb certain drugs, making them less effective. Take your other medications at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after you take calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone.

The ingredients in this medicine are contained in many other combination medicines. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using any other stomach medicine or antacid. Taking certain products together can cause you to get too much of a certain medicine.

Other drugs may interact with calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use now and any medicine you start or stop using.
