Methoxsalen Soft-Gelatin Capsules

• If you have an allergy to methoxsalen or any other part of this medicine.
• If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
• If you have any of these health problems: Squamous cell cancer or if you do not have a lens in your eye (aphakia).
• If you have ever had melanoma.
• If light bothers your skin easily or you have a health problem that may lead to light bothering your skin. There are many health problems that can do this. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all of your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins) and health problems. You must check to make sure that it is safe for you to take this medicine with all of your drugs and health problems. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any drug without checking with your doctor.

• Tell all of your health care providers that you take this medicine (methoxsalen soft-gelatin capsules). This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
• Have blood work checked as you have been told by the doctor. Talk with the doctor.
• Have an eye exam as you have been told by your doctor.
• Do not sunbathe within 24 hours before taking this medicine and the light therapy. Talk with your doctor.
• You will need to wear special sunglasses during and for 24 hours after care. Protect lips with lipstick that has sunscreen. Talk with your doctor.
• Do not take this medicine (methoxsalen soft-gelatin capsules) for longer than you were told by your doctor.
• Sun or UV rays may age the skin and raise the chance of skin cancer.
• You may get sunburned more easily. Avoid sun, sunlamps, and tanning beds. Use sunscreen and wear clothing and eyewear that protects you from the sun. Keep protecting yourself from sunburn for as long as you were told by your doctor.
• Talk with your doctor before you use other drugs or products on your skin.
• If you are 65 or older, use this medicine with care. You could have more side effects.
• This medicine may cause harm to the unborn baby if you take it while you are pregnant.
• Use birth control that you can trust to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine (methoxsalen soft-gelatin capsules).
• If you are pregnant or you get pregnant while taking this medicine, call your doctor right away.
• Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.

Use this medicine (methoxsalen soft-gelatin capsules) as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.

• Follow how to use as you have been told by the doctor or read the package insert.
• This medicine is used with light therapy.
• Take before being exposed to UV light as you were told by your doctor.
• Take this medicine with food or milk.

If you think there has been an overdose, call your poison control center or get medical care right away. Be ready to tell or show what was taken, how much, and when it happened.
