Uses of Cyclizine
Cyclizine is used in the prevention of:

Cyclizine and Pregnancy

The FDA categorizes medications based on safety for use during pregnancy. Five categories - A, B, C, D, and X, are used to classify the possible risks to an unborn baby when a medication is taken during pregnancy.
Cyclizine falls into category B:
There are no well-done studies that have been done in humans with Cyclizine. But in animal studies, pregnant animals were given this medication, and the babies did not show any medical issues related to this medication.

In animal studies, pregnant animals were given Cyclizine, and some babies had problems. But in human studies, pregnant women were given this medication and their babies did not have any problems related to this medication.
What is cyclizine?
Cyclizine is used to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, or dizziness caused by motion sickness.

What is the most important information I should know about cyclizine?
Follow all directions on your medicine label and package. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use.
Cyclizine side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using cyclizine and call your doctor at once if you have:

painful or difficult urination;
-
little or no urinating;
-
pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest; or
-
a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out.
Common side effects may include:

drowsiness, weakness, loss of coordination;
-
nausea, dry mouth, constipation; or
-
blurred vision.

What do I need to tell my doctor BEFORE I take Cyclizine?
- If you have an allergy to cyclizine or any other part of cyclizine.
- If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
- If you are taking sodium oxybate (GHB).

How is this medicine (Cyclizine) best taken?
Use this medicine as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.
- Take with or without food.
- If you are taking cyclizine for motion sickness, take 30 minutes before travel.
What do I do if I miss a dose?
- Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
- If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
- Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
- Many times this medicine is taken on an as needed basis. Do not take more often than told by the doctor.
